He later moved to Bath, Maine, where he attended Morse High School and formed strong bonds with too many friends to list. He enjoyed racing boats on the Kennebec River.
Clark attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering. His first job with Bailey Meter Company took him to Charlotte, North Carolina, Baghdad, Iraq, and he eventually settled in the New Orleans, Louisiana area. During his year in Baghdad, he would meet his wife, Linda, who was visiting from Kentucky. They would elope in 1966 and remain together until his death.
